Main Objectives / Functions:
- Prepare the D.El.Ed. (Elementary Education) curriculum as per restructuring guidelines.
- Conduct D.El.Ed. centralised online admission process.
- Prepare annual work plans and budget (AWP&B) for teacher education.
- Teacher empowerment as per NEP.
- Correspondence with NCTE, start new teacher training institutes, provide no-objection certificates for medium change or closure of institutes.

- Senior and Selection Grade Training
- Upgradation of district teacher training institutes for 2023-24 to 2028-29
- Induction training (50 hours) for newly recruited teachers
- D.El.Ed. curriculum development
- Grant distribution to DIETs & aided D.El.Ed colleges
