Objectives and Functions of the Department :
For 488 Model Schools included under the Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Adarsh School Scheme and 860 schools under the centrally sponsored PM SHRI scheme- To define school selection criteria under the ambitious Adarsh School project of the Government of Maharashtra.
- To organize various initiatives for quality enhancement in 488 Model Schools and 860 PM SHRI schools across the state.
- To enhance the capacity of officers and staff in the supervisory system through training for the holistic development of all 488 Model Schools and 860 PM SHRI schools.
- To implement various support and quality enhancement programs for teachers and students of all 488 Model Schools and 860 PM SHRI schools through online and offline modes.
- Implementation of quality-related initiatives for Adarsh Schools and PM SHRI Schools.
- Publication of the “Srujanrang” monthly magazine and presentation of Adarsh School success stories.
- Mathematics learning achievement enhancement training.
- Execution of activities under the centrally sponsored PM SHRI scheme.
- Review meetings and presentations of Adarsh School Headmasters.
- Scrutiny of proposals received from various non-government organizations, presentation before the Core Committee, and necessary follow-up actions.
- Verification of materials received through various non-government organizations and preparation of reports.
