Department of English Language
Establishment of the Department :-
In accordance with the Government Resolution dated October 17, 2016, regarding the restructuring of SCERT and DIET, School Education and Sports Department, Ministry, Mumbai, the English Language Department functions under the Coordination Department at the State Council of Educational Research and Training, Maharashtra, Pune.

Main Objectives / Functions of the Department:
-
1. To develop the syllabus and curriculum for the English language subject in accordance with the implementation of the New Education Policy.
2. To plan, develop, and implement various English language activities, practices, and educational resource materials for students from the foundational level to the secondary level.
3. To accelerate students’ learning by creating e-content (videos, references, academic content, etc.).
4. To develop various Teaching Learning Materials (TLM) for students and teachers of the English subject from the foundational level to the secondary level.
5. To plan, organize, and implement various training programmes for supervisory officers, teachers, and other stakeholders.
6. To assess the effectiveness of various training programmes, activities, and materials, and to provide feedback to all stakeholders.
7. To conduct various programmes across the state to generate interest among stakeholders in the English language.
8. To translate various policy frameworks, documents, and books.
9. To develop the syllabus and curriculum for the English language subject in alignment with the implementation of the New Education Policy.
10. To provide support for enhancing teachers’ capacity in accordance with the Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) Mission.
